SIA list ranks largest global staffing firms for 2017, Adecco remains largest

October 04, 2017

The Adecco Group remains the world’s largest staffing and recruitment firm, according to Staffing Industry Analysts’ newly released list of largest global staffing firms. Randstad Holding and ManpowerGroup followed as second- and third-largest.

The full report features the top 100 staffing and recruitment firms worldwide ranked by their 2016 revenue.

“The firms comprising the 2017 list achieved a combined turnover of $190 billion,” said Barry Asin, President of SIA. “With the global staffing market generating revenues of approximately $428 billion in 2016, these firms represent an estimated 44% of total global revenue.”

Ten companies appear on this year’s list that did not appear on last year’s. US companies appearing on the list include Medical Solutions, NTT Data, Chartwell Staffing Solutions, CoWorx Staffing Services and Vaco. Firms in other countries new to the list include India-based staffing providers TeamLease and Quess Corp., Dutch staffing firm Olympia Netherlands, and Japan-based staffing firm Human Holdings. In addition, Airswift is new on the list as well; the firm is the result of the amalgamation of Air Energi and Swift Worldwide Resources.

Eight companies no longer made the list: three because of the size of their revenue, two based on additional insights related to earnings, and five because of acquisition.

“The list represents the global nature of the industry,” said Adam Pode, director of research for EMEA and APAC at SIA. “We have firms from 16 nations in the list, who operate in all the major markets and such countries as Albania, Iraq and Vietnam.”
