MSX acquires Australia-based consulting, outsourcing firm

March 21, 2016

MSX International acquired Australian-based Sewells Group, an automotive retail training, dealer process improvement, and outsourcing enterprise.

The transaction closed March 16; terms were not disclosed.

Detroit-based MSXI is a business process outsourcing company that provides technology services in more than 80 countries. Its human capital solutions group provides professional and technical staffing services, while the retail network solutions group provides consulting services to global automakers. In August 2104, the company acquired IQNavigator’s managed services provider division and formed Geometric Results Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of MSXI.

The Sewells Group brand will remain operate as a subsidiary of MSXI.

MSXI will extend Sewells Group services to its customer base in the Americas and Europe, and Sewells Group will leverage MSXI’s offerings for the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East markets, forming a global, comprehensive services solution for automakers and their dealer networks.

“Sewells Group coming together with MSXI solidifies us as the world’s largest provider of retail solutions to automotive OEMs and their dealers,” said MSXI CEO Fred Minturn. “Globalization continues to drive change in the automotive industry, and OEMs are looking to partner with suppliers that can service their needs worldwide. Together with our strong operations in North America and Europe, Sewells Group provides us with diversified and truly international opportunities to enhance value creation for our combined customer base.”

Sewells Group currently employs about 500 people in offices located throughout Asia-Pacific, Africa and the Middle East.
