Legalpeople acquires Plante Moran ProjectTemps

March 23, 2017

Legalpeople, a Chicago-based legal staffing firm, acquired ProjectTemps, which provided legal document review and placement services at Plante Moran Chicago office.

Plante Moran is the nation’s 14th-largest certified public accounting and business advisory firm, per the company.

The transaction closed March 20. The ProjecTemps brand will change to Legalpeople and Jill Rorem, head of ProjecTemps and an income partner at Plante Moran, will remain with company as will all ProjecTemps staff.

“They have a terrific business,” Legalpeople founder and President Jim Kosciolek told Staffing Industry Analysts. “We know Jill Rorem quite well and it’s a great business fit and cultural fit, which is important to us. And strategically, her business is very, very complementary to us. The deal was an obvious winner.”

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed but post-transaction, Legalpeople expects an estimated $40 million to $50 million in revenue for 2017.

Legalpeople and its sister company, The Partners Group, have offices in nine markets nationwide. Legalpeople counts about 500 contract attorneys working on projects while ProjecTemps has about 200.
