Kansas City-based IT staffing company buys competitor

August 31, 2017

IT staffing company MegaForce acquired competitor Triple-I. Both companies are based in Kansas City and provide IT candidates for temporary contract, contract for hire and direct hire positions.

The transaction closed Aug. 1; terms were not disclosed. The Triple-I brand will remain for the time being, and its COO, Jeff Wicker, will serve in the same role at both firms.

MegaForce has provided technology staffing in the Kansas City area and throughout the US for more than 30 years. Its AdKore Staffing Group division provides light industrial, call center and construction staffing in the Central, Southeast and Southwest regions of the US.

Triple–I, also based in Kansas City, was founded in 1971 by Robert Spachman, who plans to retire. It provides management and information technology services including application development, consulting, project management, network design, systems architecture, legacy migration, training and support.

“We’re in the business of recognizing talent when we see it,” said MegaForce Owner and President Rob Thayer, “so when we had the opportunity to acquire a talented team, and expand our customer base, we didn’t want to miss it.”

Combined, the two companies comprise more than 60 employees in recruiting, consulting, development and sales. This is the first acquisition for MegaForce. The company, which also has a presence in Minneapolis and Atlanta, plans to grow organically in Kansas City as well as expand to Dallas and Omaha, likely in early 2018.
