Jobless claims fall by 11,000, lowest level since early March

US initial jobless claims fell by 11,000 in the week ended April 6 to a total of 211,000 and were at their lowest level since the week of March 2, the US Department of Labor reported today. The previous week’s level was revised upward by 1,000.

ABC News noted the jobs market continues to thrive despite the Federal Reserve’s efforts to cool inflation.

Meanwhile, the four-week moving average of claims fell by 250 from the previous week's revised average to 214,250. The previous week's average was revised upward by 250.
