IT staffing firm TSR revenue up 14.6%

October 11, 2022

TSR Inc. (NASDAQ: TSRI), a Hauppauge, New York-based provider of IT staffing, reported revenue rose 14.6% year over year in its fiscal first quarter ended Aug. 31.

Demand remained strong, CEO Thomas Salerno said. Organic growth came from new and existing customers.

The average number of consultants on billing rose to 680 in the first quarter from 659 in the year-ago quarter. The number of IT contractors rose to 464 from 403, but the number of clerical and administrative contractors fell to 216 from 256.

“Operating income for the current quarter was $755,000 as compared to a loss of $355,000 in the prior year’s first quarter,” Salerno said. “The prior year’s first quarter was impacted by a charge of $580,000 for the legal settlement with the former Chief Executive Officer.”

Operating income is poised for continued growth if current trends continue, he said.
