The U.S. gained 1,100 information technology jobs in May, according to a monthly index of IT jobs developed and published by TechServe Alliance, a collaboration of IT services firms, clients, consultants and suppliers.

IT employment rose by 0.03 percent in May to 4,008,600; it has gained more than 100,000 jobs since May 2010.

“May marks the 17th consecutive month that the number of IT jobs has increased,” said Mark Roberts, CEO of TechServe Alliance. “While the rate of growth moderated last month, the long-term trajectory of IT employment remains decidedly positive.”
