The Denver and Salt Lake City metropolitan areas posted the lowest unemployment rates among large metropolitan areas at 3.2% each in August, the US Bureau of Labor Statistics announced today.

Posting the highest jobless rate among large metropolitan areas in August was the Riverside-San Bernardino-Ontario area in Southern California at 6.6%.

The lowest unemployment rate among metropolitan areas of all sizes was in Sioux Falls, SD, at 2.1%. The highest unemployment rate among metropolitan areas of all sizes was in Yuma, Ariz., at 24.6%.
