March 23, 2017

America’s Job Link Alliance, which provides a Web-based system that electronically connects job seekers with employers, was the victim of hacking, putting at risk the personal information from job applicants in 10 states, reports AL.com. The Kansas-based company confirmed that a malicious third-party “hacker” exploited a vulnerability in the application code to view job-seekers’ names, social security numbers and dates of birth. The states affected are Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Kansas, Maine, Oklahoma and Vermont.
