Allegis names leader of search divisions

February 21, 2017

Allegis Group, the largest staffing firm in the US, appointed John Cashman as president of both executive search firm Allegis Partners and legal search firm Major, Lindsey & Africa, effective Feb. 20.

Cashman will head strategic efforts at the two firms. He replaces Simon Robinson who will remain within the Allegis Group family.

Cashman joined Major, Lindsey & Africa in 2005 as a recruiter and most recently served as partner and VP of law firm recruiting. He has focused his practice on partner representation in the lateral market, practice group acquisition and firm mergers for diverse clients from national and global law firms, regional US firms and large public and private companies.

Initially founded in 1982, Major, Lindsey & Africa was acquired by Allegis Group in 2008 and now ranks as the eighth-largest retained search firms in the US. It counts 25 offices globally.

“For the past 12 years, John has demonstrated a deep understanding of our business and a commitment to delivering outstanding results and developing top talent,” said Andy Hilger, who became president of Allegis Group in December. “He has built his legacy to date as a champion within the law firm business, and I’m confident that John will quickly gain a deeper understanding of our other unique practices to heighten and improve their positioning as industry-leading brands as he has previously done with Major, Lindsey & Africa’s partner practice group.”
