Advantage to acquire Atterro

April 28, 2015

Advantage Resourcing America Inc., a division of Recruit Co. Ltd., announced plans to acquire Minneapolis-based provider Atterro Inc.

An acquisition price of ¥4.8 billion as disclosed by Recruit, the world’s fifth-largest staffing firm and the largest staffing firm in Japan, represents the equity value of Aterro shares. However, the total acquisition price is undisclosed. The acquisition is expected to close May 22.

“The acquisition of Atterro (projecting $250+ million in annual revenue), will be an integral step toward the expansion goals of the Advantage Group,” said Advantage Resourcing CEO Toshio Oka. “The Atterro brands are strong and its locations complement the existing Advantage footprint. Combined we will have over 190 locations in North America.”

Atterro CEO Clay Morel will remain in a key leadership role of Atterro, working with Oka.

Atterro provides specialty staffing, recruitment process outsourcing and contingent worker solutions operating under the brands Digital People, Hunter Hamilton, Pro Staff, Blue Edge RPO, Ware Technology Services and Technical ProSource. Atterro collectively has 40 locations located throughout the central US. Atterro Human Capital Group ranks No. 67 on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest staffing and talent engagement firms in the US and No. 26 on the list of largest industrial staffing firm in the US.

Recruit, already the 11th largest staffing firm in the US, recently made other investments targeting the US market. Last week it announced an investment in Tokyo-based Gengo, Inc., a crowdsourcing translation service provider that plans to use the funds raised to develop new products and expand its customer base in the US. Recruit also this month invested in San Francisco-based 99designs Inc., a crowdsourcing marketplace provider for designers.
