The Economic Cycle Research Institute's forward-looking gauge of the U.S. economy for the week ended Sept. 21 had a growth rate of 1.0%. The index level was 141.1, up from 140.7 in the previous week. The ECRI gauge measures weekly changes in the economy according to a leading index level.
