Recruit Holdings to launch IPO

September 10, 2014

Recruit Holdings Co., the world’s fifth-largest staffing firm and the largest staffing firm in Japan, will launch an initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on Oct. 16. The initial public offering is worth an estimated worth ¥193 billion ($1.8 billion), one of the biggest listings in Japan this year, reports The Wall Street Journal.

Recruit provides publishing and staffing services. In addition to being the fifth-largest global staffing firm, Recruit is the 11th-largest staffing firm in the U.S. Its operations in the U.S. include Staffmark Holdings Inc., Advantage Resourcing Group and The CSI Companies. It also owns online job site Indeed, which it acquired in 2012.

The offering will help Recruit, which has ambitions to be the largest human resources firm in the world by 2020, pay for future acquisitions. Read more here.

Reports of the IPO first surfaced in May.
