Onin acquires Midwest staffing firms

The Onin Group acquired Chicago-based Labor Temps and LTI Services, expanding its presence in the Midwest and gaining a footprint in the Chicago market. The firms mainly target the light industrial sector, with some IT and skilled labor.

The firms were acquired from Phil McMahon and Larry Solomon. McMahon will stay on as regional VP; Solomon is retiring. The transaction closed March 13 and terms were not disclosed.

Labor Temps and LTI Services — which will transition to the Onin Staffing brand — count 13 locations in Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois, primarily in the Chicago area. Onin, which ranks on Staffing Industry Analysts’ list of largest staffing firms in the US, now has more than 100 offices spanning the Southwest, Midwest and Southeastern states; the combined companies will exceed $425 million in annual revenue, according to Onin.

The Onin Group is headquartered in Birmingham, Ala. Its other staffing brands include Onin Staffing, Excelsior Staffing, A3 Solutions, Focus IT, Workforce Solutions and Onin Professional Search.
