Kore1, a staffing provider based in Irvine, California, acquired Technical Connections Inc., a Los Angeles-based staffing firm with expertise in IT and software development.

The deal significantly expands Kore1’s presence in Southern California, according to the company.

“At the center of this partnership is our desire to provide a greater experience and add value to our relationships with employees, candidates, clients and the community,” said Steve Quarles, CEO of Kore1. The deal will also give candidates greater exposure given TCI’s presence in the Los Angeles market, Quarles added.

The acquisition closed Feb. 1. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

TCI is led by CEO Scot MacKinnon, who will remain with the firm as its managing director. The company was founded in 1984 by Helen MacKinnon, and its operations are centered in its Los Angeles office.
