World – Survey finds bullish CEO sentiment for this year, talent acquisition is concern: GLG

03 February 2022

A global survey of 470 CEOs found they are bullish on the year ahead with 68% confident their company’s revenue will increase in the next 12 months and 71% believing the global economy will grow. However, talent acquisition was a concern. The survey data was released by the Gerson Lehrman Group, which ranks as the fourth-largest B2B talent platform.

On talent acquisition, 67% of firms said that is a challenge for 2022, up from 50% in 2021.

In addition, 16% foresaw major increases in headcount for 2022, up from 12% in 2021.

“While CEOs are optimistic about the year ahead for the economy and their businesses, the survey highlighted several key challenges that business leaders will have to address,” GLG CEO Paul Todd said. “In addition to the ongoing pandemic and related supply change disruptions, areas of uncertainty include monetary policy, changing regulatory and legislative priorities, geopolitical uncertainty, and talent acquisition and retention.”

Another finding: 92% of CEOs expect supply chain disruptions will impact their businesses this year.

Regarding working remotely, the survey, which took place in November, found only 21% of CEOs reported their companies have returned entirely from remote work.
