Vietnam – Recruitment demand for Vietnam capital’s tourism and services surges in Q2 2022 (Hanoi Times)

24 March 2022

Hanoi’s tourism, services, manufacturing, construction, and banking industries are forecast to have ‘great’ recruitment demand in the second quarter of this year, reports the Hanoi Times, citing the Hanoi Centre for Employment Services under the Hanoi Department of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs. The Centre’s research showed that many local units and businesses need an additional 100,000 workers this quarter. According to Vu Quang Thanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Centre for Employment Services, after Vietnam switched its anti-pandemic strategy from zero-Covid to safely and flexibly adapting to the pandemic situation, the labour market in the capital has improved. Since Hanoi allowed the reopening of almost all services, tourism, and catering, accommodation and entertainment businesses started taking orders again leading to surging hiring demand. Thanh predicted these industries tend to recruit a large number of workers, as does the group of manufacturing enterprises.
