The government of Thailand is calling for an immediate upskilling of workers as it moves ahead with a plan to turn three provinces into a high-tech manufacturing hub for “S-curve” industries such as makers of electric vehicles, smart devices and medical equipment, the Bangkok Post reported. The Thai government released a specific estimate that at least 475,688 workers will be needed in the area’s factories and offices.
