Tech roundup: Redrob, JOBJACK

19 December 2023

Redrob, an India-based recruitment platform, announced that it has raised USD 4 million in a seed round funding by Murex Partners and DS & Partners. With the fundraising, Redrob stated that it is expanding its online testing platform with ‘Redrob Global People Search’, which uses ‘AI to reorganize the world’s people data into a more universally understandable format to enable sales, networking and recruitment’.

Felix Kim, Co-Founder and CEO, Redrob, said, “The greatest obstacle to hiring and selling globally is a lack of contextual knowledge.”

Kim added, “Redrob will break down country-specific silos of contextual knowledge, and in doing so we’ll revolutionise the way people meet online.”

Founded in 2018, Redrob has over 200,000 users across the US, India and South Korea and has raised USD 4 million to date.

South African startup JOBJACK, specialising in entry-level recruitment, has secured ZAR 45 million (approximately USD 2.5 million) in a pre-Series A funding round. The round was led by NEXT176, with participation from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, reports Tech in Africa.

Founded in 2018 by Christiaan van den Berg and Heine Bellingan, JOBJACK is a free online platform to assist job seekers in finding entry-level positions. The platform enables users to apply for jobs through mobile devices, simplifying the process with an easy-to-use CV generation feature. JOBJACK’s co-founder and co-CEO, van den Berg, stated that the newly acquired funds would bolster their efforts to bring more employers on board. The capital acquired will be allocated to amplifying operations, extending JOBJACK’s growing presence across South Africa, and connecting job seekers with opportunities that have the potential to alter their career paths significantly.
