Singapore – Work from home to remain the default (Channel News Asia)

10 June 2021

Working from home will remain the default arrangement in Singapore, even as the country eases to Phase 3 (Heightened Alert) in the coming weeks, reports Channel News Asia. The Government announced on 14 May 14 that working from home will become the default for workplaces after a spike in Covid-19 community infections. It was part of a set of measures under Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) aimed at bringing down the number of cases. The government will monitor the situation over the coming weeks. “Should cases remain ‘generally low and under control’, vaccination rates rise and a good and comprehensive testing regime’ is in place, it may reconsider its position on working from home, Lawrence Wong, Finance Minister and co-chair of the Covid-19 multi-ministry task force.
