Online recruitment in Singapore grew by 32% in June 2021 when compared to June 2020 according to data from the Monster Employment Index.

The Monster Employment Index (MEI) stood at 133 in June 2021 compared to 101 in June 2020.

On a month-on-month basis, the Index saw an increase of 1%.

Online hiring demand in June 2021 exceeded the June 2020 level in all of the 14 industries monitored by the Index. IT, Telecom/ISP and BPO/ITES (Business Process Outsourcing/IT enabled services) (+45%), BFSI (Banking, financial services and insurance) (+41%) and Production/ Manufacturing (+40%) saw the biggest year-on-year growth in e-recruitment among industries.

Annual online demand for professionals increased for all of the 12 functional areas monitored by the Index. Legal professionals (50%) witnessed sharpest year-on-year growth. This was followed by increase in demand for Real Estate (46%) and Finance & Accounts (46%) professionals.

The Index is a broad and comprehensive monthly and quarterly analysis of online job posting activity conducted by Monster.
