Singapore – Job market confidence improves over course of pandemic year (The Straits Times)

26 April 2021

Perceptions of the overall job market in Singapore have improved significantly over the past year, even as Singaporeans' confidence in their own job security has remained largely the same, reports The Straits Times, citing a report by the Institute of Policy Studies. In March 2021, 42% of respondents believed the Singapore job market would be bad for the next six months, compared with 80% of those surveyed last May. Over the same period, those that felt the job market would get better increased from 13% to 32%. However, Singaporeans' confidence that they would still have a job within the next six months did not substantially change over the past year, averaging 53%.
