View All NewsPersol Holdings diversifies into office furniture rental service through acquisition
Japanese staffing firm, Persol Holdings Co., Ltd. announced it has invested in Tokyo-based Class Co., Ltd., which operates a PaaS (Product as a Service) platform for durable consumer goods. This investment was made through Persol Venture Partners LLC.
Class Co.’s platform provides furniture and home appliance rental/subscription for corporations and individuals.
“Since our founding in 2018, we have built an in-house system infrastructure that is optimal for recycling, from product production/purchasing/procurement/management/sales promotion/delivery to collection of returned/replaced items and repair/cleaning of collected items. We centrally manage and coordinate information to provide an all-in-one service,” the company states.
By promoting ‘use without owning', the platform states it contributes to the economy and the creation of a decarbonised society.
Financial details of the investment were not disclosed. The investment was made via Persol Venture Partners’ which invests in mega-ventures that will rapidly expand their organisations to over 1,000 people in the future and become a driving force for employment in Japan.
