Job ads on job board Seek New Zealand were up by 15% in April 2022 when compared to April 2021 and up 39% when compared to April 2019.

When compared to the previous month, job ads were up 3%.

At the same time, applications per job ad increased by 5% over the previous month.

When comparing March 2019 figures to March 2022 figures applications per job ad fell by 28%.

By region, Taranaki reported year-on-year growth of 46% while Northland saw an increase of 41%. When compared to 2019, Gisborne reported growth of 101% with Northland reporting an increase of 97%.

By job ad volume, Hospitality and Tourism reported an increase of 39% while Engineering (28%) and Administration and Office Support saw growth of 39% over the year. When compared to 2019, Hospitality and Tourism jumped by 71%.
