According to data from the Monster Employment Index, online recruitment in Malaysia increased by 33% in July 2021 compared to July 2020.

The Monster Employment Index (MEI) rose to 57 in July 2021 from 43 in July 2020.

Monthly job demand witnessed a drop of 3%, as June 2021 saw an index of 59.

In July 2021, 8 out of 9 industries monitored by the Index witnessed an increase in e-recruitment activity annually.

IT, Telecom/ISP, BPO/ITES (business process outsourcing/IT-enabled services) (+123%), Logistic, Courier/ Freight/ Transportation, Shipping/ Marine (+90%) and BFSI (+51%), industries saw the steepest incline in online recruitment activity in July 2021 from the year-ago level.

All nine functional areas monitored by the Index registered growth in annual demand in July 2021.

Annual online demand for all professionals witnessed an upswing in July 2021. Customer Service (+271%), Software, Hardware, Telecom (+98%) and Purchase/ Logistics/ Supply chain (+63%) noticed the steepest incline in recruitment activity from the level a year year-ago.
