Japan – Pasona Group revenue edges up 10% with growth driven by HR Solutions business

Japanese staffing firm Pasona Group (2168: JP), reported revenue today for the nine months ended 28 February 2022 of JPY 270.87 billion (USD 2.16 billion), an increase of 10.7% compared with last year.

Through its subsidiaries, Pasona provides human resource solutions in Japan and internationally. It offers temporary staffing/contracting, outsourcing, and outplacement services. It also offers additional services, such as childcare; foreign language education abroad; public solutions, such as employment of persons with disabilities; and other social welfare businesses.

Revenue in the HR Solutions segment grew by 10.9% during the period. The HR Solutions segment is broken down as follows:

Looking ahead Pasona forecasted revenue of JPY 368.00 billion (USD 2.93 billion) for the year ended 31 May 2022.

Earlier this year, the Company sold a portion of its shares in its consolidated subsidiary Bewith, Inc. Outsourcing specialist, Bewith, Inc. was also listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

“The listing of Bewith's stock will enhance the company's social credibility and name recognition both in Japan and overseas and will facilitate the expansion of its business partners and the hiring of talented personnel, leading to the continuous expansion of its business,” the company stated. “We believe that the expansion of Bewith's business will contribute to the further enhancement of the corporate value of the entire group.

After the listing, the company will maintain a majority shareholding in Bewith.

Shares in Pasona Group closed at JPY 2,386.00 (USD 19.03), down 0.25% on the day and 36.26% above the 52-week low of JPY 1,751.00 (USD 13.96) set on 13 May 2021. The company has a market cap of JPY 99.72 billion (USD 795.23 million).
