Japan – PA Co full year revenue up 5.3%, but temporary staffing business sees decrease

Japanese temporary staffing firm PA Co (4766: JP) reported revenue on Friday for the full year ended 31 December 2022 of JPY 1.66 billion (USD 12.4 million), an increase of 5.3% compared to the same period last year.

PA Co operates Information Services and Temporary Staffing Services. The Information Services segment publishes free job information magazines and sales promotion information publications; offers sales promotion tools through mobiles, and operates recruitment websites for full-time employers focusing on mobile sites. The group also operates a nursery business.

Revenue in the Information Services business was up 9.0%.

Revenue in the Temporary Staffing business fell by 11.7% over the year. Recruitment demand, which had been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic during the year, is gradually recovering, and the system of sales personnel is in place, the group said.

Meanwhile, revenue for the childcare business was up 8.4% year-on-year. At the same time, revenue in the regional revitalisation business was up 24.8%.

Looking ahead, Pa Co forecasted revenue of JPY 1.80 billion (USD 13.4 million) for the full year ended December 2023.

Pa Co shares on Friday closed at JPY 179.00 (USD 1.33), up 1.70% on the day. The company has a market cap of JPY 1.88 billion (USD 14.0 million).
