Net sales at S-Pool Inc. (2471:TYO), a Tokyo-based staffing provider, rose 15.7% year over year in the three months ended 28 February, the first quarter of its fiscal year ending 30 November.

S-Pool noted net sales in its human resource solutions segment rose 13.9% year over year to JPY 3.94 billion (USD 36.98 billion). The company noted the first quarter is typically a slow period for its human resource outsourcing segment; still, it reported that progress went according to plan. It noted that call centre business remained largely unchanged from the fourth quarter.
The company forecast full-year net sales to rise by 18.0% to JPY 24.80 billion (USD 224.0 billion). Net sales in its human resources solutions segment are set to rise 14.8% to JPY 17.5 billion (USD17.43 billion).
S-Pool’s human resource solution business includes temporary staffing in sales and marketing; office staff; and long-term care, nursing and childcare staff.

Shares in S-Pool closed at JPY 1,082.00 (USD9.77), down 8.38% from their 52-week low; the company had a market cap of JPY 91.17 billion (USD 823.41 billion), according to FT.com.
