Japan – JTec Corp first half revenue rises 4.4% but profit under pressure

Japanese staffing company JTec Corp. (2479: JP) reported revenue for the first six months ended 30 September 2021 of JPY 1.42 billion (USD 12.5 million), an increase of 4.4% compared with last year.

The group said pandemic restrictions had a higher impact on sales activities than the group expected which resulted in a 10% decline in gross profit and a widening loss at the operating profit level

Revenue in the general dispatch and engineering dispatch business was down 38.6%.

JTec Corp offers outsourcing for technical personnel especially in technology. The company provides mechanical, electronic, and software engineering technicians. JTec also offers electric and electronic design, and software development on a contract basis.

Looking ahead, the company forecasted revenue of JPY 2.97 billion (USD 26.1 million) for the year ended 31 March 2022.

Shares in JTec Corp closed at JPY 180.00 (USD 1.58), down 1.10% on the day and 14.65% above the 52 week low of JPY 157.00 (USD 1.38) set on 28 December 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 1.56 billion (USD 13.7 million).
