Japan – En-Japan full year revenue and profits slump due to downturn in recruitment demand

Japan-based recruitment and job information provider En-Japan Inc (4849:TYO) reported revenue today of JPY 42.7 billion (USD 390.1 million) for the full year ended 31 March 2021, a 24.8% decrease compared to last year.

The group said the number of job offers on domestic recruitment websites had decreased due to a decrease in recruitment demand amid the pandemic. The recruitment of domestic staff was also impacted. The group’s overseas businesses were also affected by the pandemic.

According to SIA’s recently published Largest Staffing Firms in Japan report, En Japan was the 36th largest staffing firm in Japan based on revenue.

Looking ahead En Japan forecasted revenue of JPY 51.0 billion (USD 465.66 million) for the full year ended March 2022.

Shares in En-Japan closed at JPY 3,460.00 (USD 31.59), up 0.58% on the day and 5.98% below its 52-week high of JPY 3,680.00 (USD 33.60), set on 12 February 2021. The company has a market cap of JPY 171.02 billion (USD 1.56 billion).
