Japan – Dispatch workers’ average hourly wage rises in March, above JPY 1,500 for four consecutive months

The average hourly wage in March for dispatch workers in Japan was JPY 1,513 (USD 12.41), up 1.5% year over year, but down 0.8% from February, according to a report by Dip Corp. (2379:TYO), a job board operator headquartered in Tokyo. The average hourly wage for dispatch workers has now been above JPY 1,500 for four consecutive months.

Data for Dip Corp.’s report comes from the company’s Hatarako.net jobs website.

In addition, Dip Corp. reported the number of job offers for dispatch workers on Hatarako.net was up by 210,000 in March, an increase of 55.3% year over year.

Dip Corp. also noted the average hourly wage for dispatch workers is up year over year in all areas of Japan. For example, the average hourly wage for dispatch workers in the Kanto area rose 1.5% year-over-year to JPY 1,604 (USD 13.16); average hourly wage in the Tokai area rose 2.1% year over year to JPY 1,366 (USD 11.20); and average hourly wage in the Kansai area rose 1.6% year over year to JPY 1,396 (USD 11.45).
