Companies in Japan plan to fill 37.6% of job openings with mid-career hires this fiscal year, representing the largest-ever shift from the lifetime employment model in Japan, Nikkei Asia reported. The ratio of mid-career hires had hovered in the teens until fiscal 2017 when they began rising rapidly. The data is based on a survey that included 2,308 responses from businesses as of 4 April.
