Japanese businesspeople worked 22.2 hours of overtime on average per month last year, up from 20.8 in 2021, according to data from Persol Career, Nippon.com reported. The most-recent survey included 15,000 respondents. Assistant-type positions posted the lowest overtime hours, while occupations with the longest average overtime hours were publishing/online producer and business consultant.
