Japan – Artner reports small full year revenue and profits increase

Japanese recruitment firm Artner Co Ltd (2163: JP) reported full year revenue today of JPY 7.17 billion (USD 65.7 million), an increase of 2.5% compared to last year.

The group said the number of projects ordered in its contracting business rose due to ‘aggressive business development’. During the year, the company promoted teleworking and reduced travel expenses, meeting expenses, as well as recruiting expenses and advertising expenses. This led to a steady operating profit.

Artner provides employment recruitment services across Japan offering permanent, temporary, and contract staffing services. In addition, Artner is also involved in the provision of mechanical design, electrical and electronic design, software, and chemical and bio-based research and development services.

Looking ahead, the company forecasted revenue of JPY 7.67 billion (USD 70.3 million) for the full year ended 31 January 2022.

Shares in Artner closed at JPY 883.00 (USD 8.10), down 0.23% on the day and 20.88% below its 52-week high of JPY 1,116.00 (USD 10.23), set on 8 September 2020. The company has a market cap of JPY 9.41 billion (USD 86.2 million).
