The majority of tech recruiters in India are opting for developers with knowledge of new skills as compared to relevant experience, educational achievements or past projects while making the hiring decision, reports the Times of India, citing a survey from TimesJobs. The survey found that 38% of the recruiters responded that they would hire a developer with ‘excellent’ coding skills, overlooking educational achievements or experience. Meanwhile, 28% of respondents said that a developer’s relevant experience would be their sole criterion for hiring. Another 21% considered relevant educational qualifications as the only bar when hiring a developer. The remaining 13% said that they would hire a developer based on performance in either skills tests and interviews.
