India – TeamLease revenue up 35.0% in fiscal Q4, headcount rises by 25%

TeamLease Services Ltd. (TEAMLEASE:NSI), a Bangalore, India-based staffing provider reported revenue rose 35.0% in its fiscal fourth quarter ended 31 March and headcount rose by 25%.

Headcount in its “general staffing” segment rose 22% year over year with the highest ever net addition of more than 34,000 associates from the prior year’s quarter. IT staffing headcount rose 33%.

“Our diversified client portfolio has enabled us score growth across all industries and businesses, contributing to a net headcount addition of 57,000 associates during the year,” Managing Director Ashok Reddy said.

TeamLease also on Wednesday announced the appointment of Rituparna Chakraborty as executive director.

“As a co-founder, Rituparna has built TeamLease’s largest business; staffing has over [INR 50 billion] in revenue,” Reddy said. “Given her strong understanding of the employability and employment intersection and abilities in scaling, sales and policy advocacy, Rituparna can be a great asset to the board of TeamLease.”

TeamLease also reports results by three segments:

  • General staffing and allied services, which comprises staffing operations, temporary recruitment and payroll & NETAP (apprenticeship program).
  • Specialised staffing services, which comprises IT staffing operations and telecom staffing operations.
  • Other HR services, which comprises permanent recruitment, regulatory compliance, training operations, job portal and education technology.

Share price and market cap

Shares in TeamLease closed down 2.17% to INR 3,407.45 (USD 43.96) on Wednesday; shares were 6.48% above their 52-week low, according to FT.com. The company had a market cap of INR 58.87 billion (USD 759.4 million).
