India – Staffing firms leveraging new talent pools for festive season amid high demand for temp workers (The Economic Times)

12 September 2022

Staffing firms are leveraging different channels to tap new talent pools amid intense competition, soaring attrition levels and a manpower supply crunch as this year's festive season is likely to drive up the need for workers to fill 500,000-600,000 temporary roles, reports the Economic Times. At staffing firms such as Quess, TeamLease Services, Ciel HR Services, Manpower, Randstad and Persolkelly, mobilisers are sourcing candidates from skill development and educational institutes; fanning out across rural and semi-urban areas to spread the word about employment opportunities; engaging with socially influential individuals to recommend jobs to candidates; using email and social media campaigns to track candidates; tapping ex-defence personnel and differently abled people and drawing from government and skilling databases.

Ciel HR CEO Aditya Narayan Mishra said India will be celebrating the festive season without any restrictions after two years of Covid-19 pandemic and consumption is expected to see a new high. Hence, the demand for temp workers is 30-40% higher than last year.
