India – Nearly half of employees happy with their current bosses (The Economic Times)

Nearly half, or 44%, of the Indian workforce is happy with their current bosses, reports The Economic Times, citing a survey by Naukri. The survey also found that 40% of respondents look up to bosses who can motivate and guide them to perform better. At the same time, poor career growth (41%) has emerged as the top reason for employees leaving their job. Bad work culture and company policies (34%) was the second reason while 33% mentioned that they left their last organisation due to bad bosses. Meanwhile, the survey showed that the ability to motivate and guide (39%) and excellent communication and listening skills (27%) are the top two attributes that employees expect in their bosses/managers. Over 31% of employees prefer managers who motivate them to perform better and give timely feedback.
