Apple supplier Salcomp, a Finland-based company, plans to double its workforce in India to 25,000 employees over the next three years as it shifts production away from China due to its strict Covid policy, Reuters reported. Salcomp is targeting an annual revenue of at least $2 billion to $3 billion, Reuters said citing a top company executive. Salcomp currently employs about 12,000 workers in Chennai, India where it mostly makes chargers and other smartphone parts. Apple established a presence in India making iPhone products in 2017, Reuters reports.
