HCL Technologies Ltd., an IT services provider with global operations, said one of its projects was struck by a ransomware attack. The incident took place in an isolated cloud environment, the company reported in a regulatory filing.

No impact has been observed in the overall HCLTech network because of the attack, according to the regulatory filing.

“Cybersecurity and data protection is a top priority for HCLTech,” the company said in the filing. “A detailed investigation is underway in consultation with relevant stakeholders to assess the root cause and take remedial action as necessary.”

The India-based company posted revenue of USD 12.59 billion in its last fiscal year, which ended 31 March.
