Glints reports record high revenue in FY 2022 fuelled by demand for cross-border talent

07 September 2023

Glints, a talent platform based in Singapore, reported record high revenue in FY 2022 with growth fuelled by companies ‘increasingly adopting a borderless mindset’ and a growing demand for cross-border talent.

In a LinkedIn post, the company announced an 85% increase in annual revenue as well as a 110% increase in gross profits when compared to the same period a year ago.

Glints added that it saw strong demand for cross-border hires from companies in Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, and China with operational profitability achieved in Indonesia and Vietnam.

Speaking with Tech in Asia, co-founder and CEO, Oswald Yeo, said, "Cost savings and efficiency will remain top of mind as companies navigate the downturn, particularly as macros remain uncertain outside of AI-led recovery. These shifts have enabled us to drive our sustainable growth further."

The company also found that the demand stems from several factors, including talent scarcity, high costs, and belt-tightening measures by some companies.

A spokesperson for Glints said, “In Singapore for example, we are seeing a growing trend where companies are building regionally distributed teams that complement the core. This entails hiring developers from countries like Indonesia and Vietnam as well as customer support and back-end teams from the Philippines.”

Hong Kong employers have also taken a greater interest in hiring talent from Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Chinese firms, meanwhile, have been hiring in Southeast Asia as they expand their businesses into the region.

The company said it will continue investing in R&D and product innovation.
