Flexi staffing across India records 12.5% growth in fiscal Q1: Indian Staffing Federation

07 September 2023

Flexi staffing in India recorded a 12.5% growth in the fiscal first quarter (April to June) when compared to the same period a year ago, according to research from the Indian Staffing Federation (ISF), published in the Press Trust of India.

The ISF said the surge in employment was particularly notable in key sectors such as e-commerce, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods), energy, retail and banking.

While the staffing industry grew at 12.5% year-on-year in the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the ISF noted that quarterly growth was lower.

"The staffing industry witnessed 5.6% growth quarter-on-quarter, registering a robust demand for flexi (contractual) workforce," it added.

According to the report, the formal flexi workforce employed by members of the ISF reached 1.5 million.
