Confidence Interworks invests in game development firm Indigames

18 September 2023

Confidence Interworks, a Japanese HR solutions and staffing firm, announced it has invested in Indigames Co., Ltd., which focuses on the gaming business.

Indigames is a game development company that is expanding its game business globally, with a focus on hyper-casual games, live gaming, and NFT (non-fungible tokens) games, a CG (computer generated) production business, and a game engine business. The company’s head office is in Japan, with offices in Vietnam. The company said it has strengths in offshore development in Vietnam.

Financial details of the investment were not disclosed.

In the HR solution business, Confidence Interworks is developing human resources dispatch and QA (quality assurance) outsourcing for the game and entertainment industry.

According to Confidence Interworks, in the field of 3DCG production, where demand is increasing, it has invested in Indigames, which has approximately 100 highly skilled CG artists and engineers in Vietnam and has a rich track record of contract work to expand its domestic business partners.

By expanding the scope of collaboration with Indigames, including casual game development, blockchain game development, and game engine development, the company aims to develop its service line-up in the gaming area. Confidence Interworks added that the investment is a steppingstone for overseas expansion, which it is considering in the future.

Indigames has expertise in recruiting IT personnel in Vietnam and has built a solid offshore development system by building close relationships with various local universities and educational institutions.

“Many companies are having problems securing 3D designers and IT engineers, but by collaborating with Indigames, we are able to meet the human resources needs of the game industry by connecting the Vietnamese labour market with Japanese game companies,” Confidence Interworks stated. “By supporting the active participation of foreign human resources, we aim to help resolve the human resources issues faced by the Japanese labour market.”

Earlier this year Interworks, a Japan-based recruitment company, announced a merger with Confidence, a company in Japan involved with HR and media services. Confidence emerged as the surviving entity, and its trade name was changed to Confidence Interworks Co., Ltd, while Interworks was delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
