Confidence Interworks, a Japanese HR solutions and staffing firm, announced it has acquired additional shares of Protagonist Co., Ltd., a company that provides Web3.0 industry human resources services, client support.

The company is now the majority shareholder and has made Protagonist a subsidiary.

Financial details were not disclosed.

Protagonist was established in 2020 and is based in Tokyo.

“In our growth strategy, we aim to expand our human resources services to areas surrounding the game industry, and in order to enter the Web 3.0 industry, which is highly compatible with the game industry, as one of the peripheral areas, we aim to expand our human resources services to areas surrounding the game industry,” Confidence Interworks stated.

“The game industry and the Web3.0 industry, which are the targets of our mainstay staffing business, have a high affinity, and our customer network and job seeker database in the game industry and Protagonist's customer network and Web3.0 industry are highly compatible,” the company stated. “The investment was made with the intention of accelerating the business growth of both companies by combining their human resources databases, but in order to accelerate the synergies between the two companies and aim to improve corporate value through further business growth, we decided to invest in Protagonist's shares. We have decided to additionally acquire the company and make it a consolidated subsidiary.”

Confidence Interworks anticipates that the impact of this share acquisition on its consolidated business results for the fiscal year ending March 2024 will be minimal.
