Australian politician, Infosys money under scrutiny (The Guardian)

27 June 2023

A former Morrison government minister, Stuart Robert, has come under fire after reports that a lobbying firm with which he was allegedly affiliated — called Synergy 360 — received AUD 16 million (USD 10.7 million) from IT services firm Infosys Ltd. (INFY:NSI), The Guardian newspaper reported. Robert, who served as Minister for Employment, Workforce, Skills, Small and Family Business from 2021 to 2022, denied the allegations. Before entering politics, Robert had founded the IT services firm GMT Recruitment. In 2017, it was revealed that GMT had been awarded government contracts worth millions of dollars.

An Infosys executive VP said the company no longer engages Synergy 360 and stated he was not aware of anything untoward, according to the newspaper report.
