Australia-based Go2 Group completes deal with IntoWork Australia following voluntary administration

16 June 2023

Go2 People Ltd. (GO2:ASX), the Australia-based provider of vertically integrated recruitment and training services, announced that its administrators have confirmed that the Deeds of Company Arrangement were completed with control passing to IntoWork effective from 15 June, with the exception of Go2 Recruitment.

In May, the group announced that it had entered voluntary administration, citing legacy Australian Tax Office liabilities as one of the reasons to call in voluntary administration. The administrators, Rob Brauer and Rob Kirman of McGrathNicol Restructuring, entered into a loan facility agreement with IntoWork Australia Ltd, a national not-for-profit provider of employment, skills and education, and support services.

Earlier this month the group said that the creditors of the following entities had approved the Deeds of Company Arrangement (DOCAs) proposed by IntoWork: Skill Hire WA Pty Ltd; Go2 Recruitment Pty Ltd as trustee for the GO2 Recruitment Trust; Go2 People Australia Pty Ltd; Go2 Skills & Training Pty Ltd; Nara Skills & Training Pty Ltd; and Hunter Executive Search Consultants Pty Ltd.

The company added that completion of the Go2 Recruitment transaction will occur in the near future subject to receipt of court orders to terminate the receivers and managers appointment to that entity.

Lead Administrator, Brauer of McGrathNicol Restructuring said, “This is a significant outcome that recapitalises and preserves all trading businesses within the Go2 Group and retains the jobs of over 1,000 employees, all achieved within a six-week timeframe. We would like to thank IntoWork for their cooperation and ability to move quickly to reach today’s milestone.”

Group CEO of IntoWork, Poul Bottern said, “We’re very pleased with this outcome. It is a major milestone which brings security, resources and expertise to the businesses so they’re able to deliver quality services, and for the IntoWork Group it is another step towards realising our vision of being the leading national provider of employment, skills, education and support services. We thank the staff of the Go2 Group for their dedication, professionalism and commitment during a challenging time, and look forward to creating a robust future together serving individuals, communities and businesses.”

IntoWork has advised the administrators that it will assume the role of CEO of the Go2 Group within IntoWork’s existing executive team. Accordingly, Shawn Murphy will cease as CEO of the Go2 Group from 15 June and will exit the business.

Murphy and board chair Darren Cooper will also be replaced as directors of the above entities by newly appointed directors to be nominated by IntoWork. There are currently no changes to the directors of The Go2 People Ltd., it added.
