Artner revenue climbs 9.6% as profits rise in nine-month period

Japanese recruitment firm Artner (2163: JP) reported revenue today for the nine months ended 31 October 2023 of JPY 7.55 billion (USD 52.4 million), an increase of 9.6% when compared to the same period last year.

Artner provides employment recruitment services across Japan, offering permanent, temporary, and contract staffing services. Artner is also involved in the provision of mechanical design, electrical and electronic design, software, and chemical and bio-based research and development services.

The group said that progress in mid-career recruitment was delayed during the period, however the increase in the average cost per engineer and the early placement of new graduate engineers led to a revenue and profits increasing.

Looking ahead, Artner forecasted revenue of JPY 10.05 billion (USD 69.69 million) for the year ended 31 January 2024.

Artner shares closed at JPY 1,726.00 (USD 11.97), down 4.06% on the day and 11.26% below its 52-week high of JPY 1,945.00 (USD 13.49), set on 13 September 2023. The company has a market cap of JPY 19.12 billion (USD 132.60 million).
