Developing Innovative, Critical CW Tools

Imagine a team that serves as a collaborative forum for sharing and developing best practices, industry standards and priorities related to key strategic initiatives impacting the future of the contingent workforce. This is Staffing Industry Analysts Advisory Group's mandate.

Formed in March 2010, the group develops globalization standards and a best practice framework for global expansion by region and program. The group consists of industry thought leaders, experts from both the buyer and supplier communities. Through these efforts, contingent workforce managers can measure program success with consistent performance standards and metrics that have been adopted by the community at large. Finally, these industry experts develop and share innovative solutions that can be leveraged across the industry for the greater good. Industry leaders from the entire staffing ecosystem — staffing firms, buyers and industry vendors (VMS/MSP) — have shared their vision and innovative ideas for standardizing key areas of the contingent workforce practice.  

One result was the launch of Staffing Industry Analysts’ Certified Contingent Workforce Professional program last month. This group is also creating a Global Readiness Assessment, which will be a critical tool for any contingent workforce program that is considering going global. We will be producing a country-by-country matrix outlining economic factors, such as labor market size, skills, staffing market penetration and growth forecast. This tool also will include the latest labor and legislation and regulations that affect the use of contingent labor, such as contract restrictions, pay parity and sector restrictions, also by country.

Our aim is to provide smarter, more strategic industry data and metrics standards and a spirit of cooperation that leaps across the boundaries of buyers and staffing firms. We’re ready to tackle 2013 with a group of industry veterans who have the knowledge, experience and vision to move our industry forward.
