Woman guilty of H-1B visa fraud, submitted false docs claiming Cisco jobs (The Mercury News)

A San Jose, Calif., businesswoman pleaded guilty to three counts of visa fraud, The (San Jose, Calif.) Mercury News reported. Sridevi Aiyaswamy secured H-1B visas for skilled foreign workers by telling immigration officials they had job offers from Cisco Systems Inc. when they did not, and admitted to submitting more than 25 fraudulent documents to obtain H-1B classification. She faces a maximum statutory penalty of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
