Cross Country CEO takes seat on Volt board

Volt Information Sciences Inc. (NYSE MKT: VISI) appointed Bill Grubbs, president and CEO of Cross Country Healthcare Inc. (NASD: CCRN), as a board director. He replaces John Rudolf, who retired from the board effective Feb. 23. Director James Boone will also step down in June.

Grubbs and Arnold Ursaner, the founder of independent securities research firm CJS Securities, have been nominated to stand for election to the New York-based IT and engineering staffing and MSP provider’s board of directors at its 2017 annual shareholders meeting.

Grubbs is included in Staffing Industry Analysts’ 2017 Staffing 100 list of most influential leaders in the staffing industry.

Prior to taking the helm of the third-largest US healthcare staffing firm, Grubbs served as executive VP and COO of TrueBlue Inc. (NYSE: TBI). He also held various senior executive positions with staffing services provider SFN Group Inc., including executive VP and COO, and was part of the executive team that sold SFN Group to Randstad in 2011.

In addition to serving as founder and president of CJS Securities, Ursaner has more than 35 years of broad investment industry experience with senior positions at Bear Stearns, First Boston and Smith Barney.

“Bill is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in the staffing services industry that will prove valuable as the company focuses intensely on its continued turnaround initiatives and growth opportunities,” said Chairman Dana Messina. “Arnie has had a long and successful career on Wall Street as a business services research analyst and investor, and will bring to the board his significant financial markets experience, investment acumen, and investor and market perspective.”
